Hi, I’m Denise Rushing. I live in Lake County, California, which also happens to be ground zero for massive climate-change driven wildfires.
From our organic farm near the edge of the Mendocino National Forest, I write to repair, regenerate and re-enchant our relationship with the natural world. I’m also a permaculturist/ecological designer, community leader, former energy tech executive turned eco-spiritual sojourner and the author of Tending the Soul's Garden: Permaculture as a Way Forward in Difficult Times.

My approach is rooted in the principles of permaculture (how nature works), and in the power of story to transform human beings.
